CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CA — A woman who died in an Antioch car crash on Sunday afternoon has been identified by the Contra Costa County coroner’s office as Betty James, a 93-year-old woman from Clayton.
The crash happened on James Donlon Boulevard near Silverado Drive around 3:05 p.m., according to police. Officers said a Buick Regal sedan that was traveling on Silverado Drive pulled out onto James Donlon Boulevard and was hit by a Ford F-150 pickup truck.
The force of the crash pushed the Buick into another vehicle, according to police.
James had to be extricated from the car and died in a hospital on Sunday, police said.
The occupants of the other cars were not seriously injured and stayed at the scene until officers and emergency workers arrived, according to police.
Alcohol or drugs don’t seem to be factors in the collision, police said.
